ACTIVITY SUMMARY (USAID G2G LIRA RRH ACTIVITY)

The Lira Regional Referral Hospital (LRRH) G2G mechanism is a five-year activity intended to strengthen the internal capacity of LRRH to deliver quality HIV/AIDS and TB services and a selected set of Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Adolescent and Child Health (RMNACH) and Nutrition services, while strengthening the Government of Uganda (GOU) systems for ensuring accountability in the use of USG funds.

Purpose

The purpose of the G2G project is to strengthen LRRH’s capacity to deliver comprehensive high-quality HIV/AIDS and TB services and selected set of Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Adolescent and Child Health (RMNACH) and Nutrition services while serving as a center of excellence for oversight, training, and supervision of health service delivery in the Lango sub-region in mid northern Uganda.

Specific objectives

The purpose of USAID’s assistance to Lira RRH is to strengthen the capacities of the hospital to implement a comprehensive HIV/AIDS and TB services and selected set of Reproductive, Maternal, Neonatal and Adolescent and Child Health (RMNACH) and Nutrition program as part of transitioning the hospital to the road to self-reliance and positioning the RRH as a center of excellence to provide oversight over districts within its area of responsibility.
