Lira Regional Referral Hospital convenes dialogue for Doctors in Lango Sub region

The leadership of Lira Regional Referral Hospital led by Hospital Director, Dr Andrew Odur on Thursday 5th February 2026, convened sub-regional dialogue for all in-charges and doctors working in health facilities in the 10 districts of Lango sub-region with a strategic  focus on enhancing quality health service delivery.

During the productive engagement, critical issues such as; referral system, Skills transfer, Ambulance call and dispatch system, Health facility governance and technical backstopping and  support supervision were discussed.

Dr Andrew Odur, the Hospital Director, underscored the need for strong leadership and robust governance structure in the lower health facilities.

According to Dr. Odur, no health facility and Medical personal is immune to improvement , calling for concerted efforts and building of synergies inorder to transform the health sector.

Dr. JP Bagala who officiated  the dialogue on behalf of the Director General of Health Services, applauded the doctors for the immense strides and urged them to follow all the established ethics.

He urged facility in-charges to ensure good clinical governance, mandatory attendance to duty, strenthening LMNS network, and bi-annual barazas.

Doctors who attended the meeting committed to ensure that the communities access quality health care and cascade the information they have received to other health care givers under their charge.

Lira Regional Referral Hospital remains committed to coordinate all efforts to coordinate all efforts to improve service delivery in the Lango Health sector and requests Districts leaders including ;RDCs,LCV Chairpersons, CAOs and DHOs to pay attention to the health sector and supervise performances.
